Natural Peanut Butter Dog Biscuits

When feeding your dog peanut butter, there are some ingredients you should keep an eye out for. Some PB's have a chemical in them called Xylitol, which is fine for humans, but is  toxic to dogs! Luckily, Natural Peanut Butter has no additives, so our PB is completely dog safe! We often let our furry friend Mister have a taste of our nut butter and he loves it... so recently we gave him an extra special treat: our handmade healthy dog biscuits! Mister loved them, so we wanted to share our recipe with everyone who has fur babies of their own.

Prep time: 15 min | Make time: 30 min | Makes 24 cookies

Natural peanut butter dog biscuit

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups flour (use rice or coconut flour as a replacement to whole what if your dog is gluten sensitive. Coconut flour is lower in sugar, so it's the safer option for dogs with diabetes or high cholesterol as it helps regulate blood sugar levels)
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup smooth or crunchy Natural Peanut Butter
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 egg

Instructions

1 - Preheat oven to 350F

2 - In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder and the egg and mix. Add Natural Peanut Butter, water and honey. Mix the dough - it will be very firm and sticky, so you may have to use your hands if need be!

3 - Roll out the dough on a surface sprinkled with flour until the dough is about 1/2 inch thick.

4 - Get creative with different shapes you can make! Willow and I made heart and star shapes for Mister, but you can use any cookie cutter you have handy.

5 - Put on a baking sheet with parchment paper (or a reusable silicone baking sheet) and bake for 20 minutes until golden.

6 - Let them cool down before treating your furry friend!
